Birthday Party Lead
Do you love working with kids and families to foster learning, connection, and engagement? Then we are "wondering" if you may be a great fit for us!
THE ROLE
As a Birthday Party Lead, you're the person who makes the magic happen. You're the face of Wonder on party day — the one who sets the tone, keeps the energy up, and makes sure every kid leaves feeling like the most celebrated person on the planet. This isn't a "stand-in-the-corner-and-supervise" kind of role. We want someone who shows up fully, brings ridiculous amounts of enthusiasm, and genuinely loves making kids feel special. You will prep the party room decor in alignment with our run of show and ensure everything is perfect before the party family arrives, with a keen eye for detail
What You'll Do
-
Lead birthday party experiences from setup to send-off, including ensuring the other team members are on track, focused, and operations are running smoothly throughout
-
Coordinate with families before and during the event to ensure everything goes smoothly
-
Facilitate games, food, activities, and programming with confidence and enthusiasm
-
Manage the party space, keeping it organized, safe, and fun throughout
-
Support the team with setup, breakdown, and general event flow
-
Be a genuine, warm point of contact for parents and guests
-
Maintain the facility in its expected state of cleanliness and order.
WHO YOU ARE
We care more about who you are than what's on your resume. Here's what we're looking for:
-
You have energy that fills a room — kids and adults feel it immediately
-
You're a natural with kids — patient, playful, and genuinely enjoy their company
-
You keep your cool when things get chaotic (and at a birthday party, they will)
-
You're reliable, communicative, and take your commitments seriously
-
You take pride in the little things — the details that make an experience feel special
-
Bonus: experience in events, childcare, education, or hospitality
THE DETAILS:
-
Part-time, hourly position; Eligible to receive tips from the families in addition to the hourly wage
-
Bonuses available for exceptional feedback from birthday families
-
Primarily weekends, with some weekday availability preferred
-
Located at Wonder Childhood Discovery in Leesburg, VA
-
Must be comfortable standing, moving, and being active throughout shifts
